Make-up cause of molestation: Saudi survey  and  absence of deterrent laws another key factor.

Saudis believe excess make-up worn is the main cause for men to molest, while others believe the absence of deterrent laws is another key factor.

According to a survey conducted by a Saudi think-tank, most men said they are seduced by women trying to show up their make-up.

“Around 85.5 per cent of those polled said that women’s exaggeration in wearing make-up is the main reason for the spread of molestation in the Kingdom,” said the survey, conducted by the Riyadh-based King Abdul Aziz Centre for National Dialogue.

“When asked about the anti-molestation laws, about 79.9 per cent of those polled said men are encouraged to molest women because of the absence of deterrent legislation against molestation,” the survey added, which covered 993 men and women.

It said 80.8 per cent of the polled women said Saudi Arabia, the largest Arab economy, has anti-molestation laws, but that they are not effectively enforced.
