Dubai, Feb 20: Indian Cultural Society, Karnataka chapter – an NRI wing of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), has conducted a symposium on “Present Indian Political Scenario and Alternative Politics”on February 20, 2015 at Jordanian Club Dubai, UAE. Mr. Elyas Muhammad Thumbe National Working Committee Member of Social Democratic Party of India was the main speaker in the program.
Mr. Nasir Kaaraje, President of Indian Cultural Society, Karnataka Chapter, UAE inaugurated the program. He has presented the account of the activities of Indian Cultural Society. While addressing the gathering he welcomed the judgment of supreme court which enables the voting power to NRIs, and urged the NRIs to verify their names are entered in the voters list. He appealed Karnataka Election commission to implement the enrolment of names in the voters list without further delay. Mr. Hassan, President of Indian Cultural Society UAE presented a memento to the chief guest Elyas Mohammed Thumbe.
While speaking on the subject, Mr.Elyas Muhammad Thumbe said that Indian citizen should unite irrespective of cast creed and color to strengthen the democracy and secularism. The communal parties are gaining power through polarizing the voters communally. The fascist forces are disrupting the secular fabric of the nation by spreading hate among the religion. The government is least bothered to curb the communal encounters of the fanatic fascist groups. An alternative political solution is needed to tackle the situation and to bring the development to all strata of people as the people in India have lost trust on major parties. He said SDPI is a best choice of the people as an alternate political party for the development of the minorities, backward communities and deprived sections of our country. The party is striving to realize its dream of a country with ‘Freedom from fear’ and ‘Freedom from hunger’.
The program was so encouraging as the hall was full of audience and with inspiring supports. Mr. Munavvar Gen. Sec. Indian Cultural Society, UAE , Mr. Razak Shabaan Uchila Vice President, Karnataka Chapter, Mr. Nilam President, Tamilnadu Chapter, Mr. Hameed Savanoor, Mr. Ashfak Mysore and Mr.Abbas Bantwal members of Executive Council, Karnataka Chapter were also present on the Dias.
Mr. Mohd Ali Muloor President, Indian cultural society Deira, welcomed the guests and gathering. Mr. Irfaan Yermal compered the program and Mr. Arif Makikeri, General Secretary of Deira Division has conducted the vote of thanks.
