High dust levels expected in parts of UAE today

The warning comes a day after parts of UAE experienced rainfall and dust storms, which led to a drop in temperature and reduced visibility.

Abu Dhabi: The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) today warned motorists to exercise caution on the roads, due to high dust levels expected in different parts of the country, especially in the inner areas.

In a statement, the centre urged motorists to avoid accidents by following traffic regulations and maintaining a safe, sufficient distance between vehicles.

The NCMS also advised the public against venturing into the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, which are expected to be rough.

The warning comes a day after parts of UAE experienced rainfall and dust storms, which led to a drop in temperature and reduced visibility.

Maximum temperatures were measured at 42 to 47 degree Celsius in internal areas and 36 to 42 degree Celsius in coastal areas. Minimum temperatures were measured at 26 to 32 degree Celsius in internal areas and 29 to 33 degree Celsius in coastal areas, according to the forecast report available on the NCMS website.
