Kavoor Bundh called off- Police commissioner assures legal actions based on investigation reports.

Mangalore, October 20: The VHP leader Jagadish Shenava has come forward for an temporary agreement with the police department, by agreeing to the assurance of Commissioner R Hitendra that he would take appropriate action against sub inspector Umesh Kumar after receiving the investigation report by DCP crime branch without suspending him as of now.

By this assurance, three day deadlock over this issue halted temporarily, by withdrawing the Kavoor Bandh that was called for Monday, October 20th by the VHP and Bajrang Dal. The Dal activists said that they would continue the protest, if the Commissioner failed to take suitable actions based on the report as was promised by him on Sunday October 19th.

The commissioner speaking to media said “suspending the sub inspector without considerations of the investigation report will sound prejudice”. He conveyed as soon the DCP submits the report to the commissioner the action will be taken against Umesh Kumar based on the report.

Jagadish Shenava argued the Commissioner guaranteed that the DCP crime would file the report today evening and the action against Umesh is expected to be taken by Monday evening.

Shenava said that he had taken the victim Charan and his wife to Commissioner’s office to explain the seriousness of the problem.

Commissioner said that the protesters have understood the fact that Umesh Kumar could not be suspended unless the investigation report arrives on the table.

DK, Nalin Kumar spoke to the protestors in the afternoon and alleged Mangalore City Commissioner and officers were working like agents of Congress party. His, opinion was that with the view of carrying smooth investigations, the VHP and Dal would protest until the alleged officer was suspended from his post.
