Mangaluru, December 19: The Konaje police have arrested three persons on Thursday, December 19th on the charges of burglary of a lorry driver.
M Sharif (29) resident of Montugoli, Mohammed Imran alias Abbu (20) and Nawaz (25) residents of Kairangala Gundalike are the arrested.
The burglars waylaid a timber lorry which was moving from Montugoli towards Kedumbadi on December 10th around 2.30 am during night. It is alleged that they threatened the driver using deadly weapons and robbed him of Rs 8,200.
The lorry owner, Hussain, had filed a complaint in Konaje police station.
Directed by DCP Vishnuvardhan, the team led by Santhosh Kumar comprising of Konaje Inspector Raghava Padil, SI Sudhakar, head constable Jagannath, Gilbert D’Souza, Sanjeeva, Santhosh Kumar conducted an operation to arrest the accused.
Nawaz is said to have been involved in a failed attempt to rob a driver near Kotekar, Ullal on Wednesday. A case is also filed against him in relation to this in Ullal Police station. It is said, the arrested had cultivated varsity techniques in robbing the trucks during late night.
