Mangaluru,dec.19 : Inner Wheel Club of Mangalore North is organising a sensitization programme for the staff nurses of Government Wenlock Hospital, Mangalore to ensure better nursing care for the patients.

The one-day programme will be held on Sunday, 21st December, 2014, at RAPCC, Wenlock Hospital Premises from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. About 100 staff nurses are expected to attend this training programme, which will be conducted by Mr. Stanley David, a renowned Soft Skills trainer and Founder CEO of Stanley David & Associates, Bangalore. The focus of the training will be on attitudinal and behavioural patterns that would bring about qualitative changes in the workplace.

Though Government Wenlock Hospital is equipped with all the necessary infrastructural and clinical facilities to address every need of the patients, it is felt that patient care can be greatly improved with increased focus on the interpersonal relation between the patients and the staff nurses treating them. The professionally trained nurses will do greater justice to the noble profession when efficiency is coupled with empathy.

The programme is organised by Inner Wheel Club of Mangalore North, an International Women’s Service Organisation, jointly with Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka. Sri U T Khader, Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnatakahas extended his full support to this initiative which will bring greater comfort and solace to the patients visiting the hospital.

This joint venture of Inner Wheel Club of Mangalore North, Health and Family Welfare Department – Government of Karnataka and Wenlock Hospital envisages the extension of such sensitization programmes to the Front-office staff and PG students in the future.
