Kundapur, January 24: A married woman attempted to suicide after she consumed poison fearing unpleasant reaction from public. She has been admitted to a hospital.
A youngster named Sudarshan was reportedly disturbing and abusing her publicly was the reason behind her fear.
Since a year the woman was staying with her five year old child in a rented room near Tallur. As her husband was working as a driver, he rarely visited her.
Sudarshan (21), under the influence of alcohol allegedly started disturbing her. He continued the same on Wednesday January 21st. It is said that on Friday January 23rd, he again came in front of her house and started abusing her loudly using filthy language in front the villagers. It is also alleged that Sudarshan had pelted stones at her house.
The woman who took the matter seriously came took the extreme step to end her life fearing unfair reactions from people and her husband. On Friday afternoon, after consuming insecticide, she phoned one of Sudarshan’s friends.
It is said that the person who received the call from the woman tried to pacify her, but she was unable to respond. When Sudarshan came to know about the news, he was travelling from Kundapur towards Tallur, and he rushed to the spot and made the victim to vomit. He took her to the government hospital in Kundapur where the victim is recovering now.
Cops have arrested Sudarshan after recording the statement from the victim and are probing the case.
