Mahamasthakabhisheka 8th day celebrations -“We have to live in harmony as the children of same mother”- CM Siddaramaiah.

Karkala, January 28: “The barriers between people have to be broken down and people have to unite and live together as the children of same mother. Such a society has to be developed; achieving it would be the perfect way to honour lord Bahubali. As Bahubali, Budha, Basavanna, Kanakadasa has said, we have to lead a life with humanity”, said Siddaramaiah.

He was speaking as a chief guest during religious meet organized as part of the eighth day of Mahamasthakabhisheka ceremony of Lord Bhaubali organised at Karkala on Wednesday January 28th.

Siddaramaiah said, “India is the only country which achieved freedom through non-violence. The message of non-violence, sacrifice, and peace was preached to us by Bhagwan Bahubali.

“The essence of any religion is the welfare of mankind. No matter what religion or caste we belong to, overall we are humans. Religion should make the people to live better. Sacrifice, non-violence and love can enhance peace in society. Let us remove the feelings of hatred and discrimination and live in harmony,” he said.

Siddaramaiah lauded Dr Veerendra Heggade on receiving the Padma Vibhushan award. “Dr Heggade received this award for his dedicated service to the society. The entire state is happy about his achievement,” he said.

Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala said, “Bahubali has preached the messages which could be accepted by all, over the globe. Religion preaches peace and harmony to which the messages of Bahubali show us the path”.

Chief Guest on this occasion, D K Shivakumar- Energy minister; religions may be different, but the principles are the same. Method of worship might be different but the devotion is the same”, he said. Co-operation Minister Mahadev Prasad, MLA Pramod Madwaraj also spoke on this occasion.

Chairman of Alva’s Foundation Dr Mohan Alva, Health Minister U T Khadar, Minister of forests Ramanath Rai, Youth and sports Minister Abhaychandra Jain, Urban development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLAs Pramod Madhwaraj and Mohiuddin Bawa, MLC Ivan D’Souza, and many other dignitaries were present.

Dr M N Rajendra Kumar welcomed the gathering. Muniraja Renjala compered the program.
