Bruhat Hindu Samajothsava organized in the city on March-1st.

Mangaluru, January 29: As part of the silver jubilee celebrations of Vishva Hindu Parishad, ‘Bruhat Hindu Samajothsava’ is organized on March 1st at Nehru Maidan in the city, announced Ganesh Rao, chairman of Karavali Group of Colleges, on Thursday January 29th in a press meet held in the city.

The function will begin at 2.30 pm on March 1st and a procession will be taken from Dr Ambedkar Circle to Nehru Maidan. Vijaynath Vittal Shetty, will preside over the function. The key not address will be delivered by Sadhwi Balika Saraswati Mishra. Various seers and priests of the Hindu Samaj will participate in the programme, he said.

M B Puranik, VHP leader said, the programme is organized to promote unity among Hindus. Irrespective of caste, creed and gender people will take part in this event. The event aims at protecting the culture, values and heritage of this land. We do not intend to hurt anyone or any religion or class. To foster brotherhood among all is our sole intention” he said.

Vijaynath Vittal Shetty spoke on the occasion and said the program is about Hinduism. We have to respect it. VHP promotes Hinduism, and he would support it, he said.

He said, it was the greatness of VHP that despite being a Congressperson, he was invited.

Ganesh Rao speaking on this occasion said, “The constitutional laws will be strictly followed. The law should be same for all. We are all Indians and must respect the Constitution and the law to preserve the essence of this nation. This programme is to protect the culture and heritage of this land”.

Ganesh Rao said that, nearly 2 lakh people are expected to arrive for the event.

In the press meet, VHP leader M B Puranik, Ganesh Rao- honorary president, Vijaynath Vittal Shetty- president, general secretary- Jitendra S Kottary, secretary-Jagdeep Suvarna , Sharan Pumpwell, and Jagadish Shenava were present.
