Puttur, January 31: Passing a clear message to the criticisers over the issue of the launch of Bharatiya Hindu Parishad (BHP), the state congress leadership has dismissed its Puttur block president Hemanath Shetty.

The BHP was formed and inaugurated on January 14th under the leadership of Hemanath Shetty.

Since then, senior party leaders in the Congress, including Janardhan Poojary, have strongly expressed that BHP does not have anything to do with the Congress. The party did not support religion-based groups as it was secular.

In a letter signed by Dr Parameshwar, president of KPCC; Congress has stated that with immediate effect, the president of Puttur block Congress Hemanath Shetty will be replaced by Fazal Raheem.

Directions have been passed to Fazal Raheem to take up the task of uniting the Congressmen at the block level as directed by DK district Congress committee and also the local leaders.
