Tailor’s shop set on fire by miscreants in Thokkotu, banners damaged in the area .

Ullal, February 28: Although strict police vigil is deployed and Section 144 is imposed under the police jurisdiction here, the miscreants have continued their work of damaging the properties. The unknown miscreants have set fire to a tailors shop in TC Road in Thokkotu, here and also have damaged the erected banners.

The Nithyananda tailor shop belonging to Vasudeva Poojary situated in TC Road in Ullal is completely gutted in fire. Due to this incident the cloths which were already stitched and which were pending to be stitched were charred incurring an estimated loss of about 2lakhs.

It is gathered that on late night of Friday, February 27th the tailor shop was set on fire. The incident came to light while a photographer who was returning home after attending a function. In case the fire was not observed, the fire would have engulfed the adjacent beedi branch and the houses situated behind.

DCP’s Santhosh Babu, Vishnuvardhan, ACP Kalyan Shetty, Savithra Teja of Ullal Police Station and SI Bharati have inspected the spot and filed a case.

On Friday night the miscreants have damaged the banners erected in the area as part of the forthcoming Hindu religious programmes and Hindu Samajothsava.

The locals have expressed dissatisfaction over the untoward incidents taking place here although section 144 imposed and strict vigil is being deployed here.
