Beltangady based youth on his mid –way to native goes missing from Mumbai Airport.

Beltangady, March 4: A Beltangady based youth on his way from Riyadh to Beltangady has been reported to have gone missing mysteriously from Sahara International Airport in Mumbai airport on February 22nd.

The missing youth is Safwan (25), son of the late Abubakker, resident of Karpady in Puttila village here. He had left from Riyadh to Mumbai by Jet Airways flight on February 21st.

He landed at Mumbai airport the next day and was scheduled to board a connecting flight to Mangaluru. However, after going through customs and collecting his baggage, he disappeared, leaving his baggage behind in Mumbai airport.

When he did not reach Mangaluru as expected, his worried family went to Mumbai and enquired, and came to know that he had left behind his luggage in the airport there. They then filed a complant in Sahar police station in Mumbai.

The police during investigation have found that the CCTV at the airport had caught images of him moving towards the auto rickshaw stand at around 6.40 am, with a handbag and after this he went missing.

It is said that Safwan’s father Abubakker was killed by unidentified gunmen in Riyadh in October 2014. The police are investigating this case there, but yet there is no information on the gunmen, sources said. Now Safwan has also gone missing which has left his family in anxiety.

Safwan is the eldest among the siblings. Following his father’s sudden death, Safwan’s mother had asked Safwan return to India, sources said.
