Mangaluru, March 28: Under the aegis of Mangaluru diocese, a massive protest was staged in front of the DK District Deputy Commissioners office here condemning the attacks and atrocities on Christian community and also on the institutions run by them.
The protest took place in the presence of Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, Director of CODP institute Fr Oswald Montero.
So far, in 2014 and 2015, injustice has taken place against 7000 Christians all over the country. About 396 religious and other organizations are attacked and damaged, said Roman Lobo.
Derogatory remarks against Jesus Christ on the internet, allegations of conversions against Mother Theresa, attacks on Church, other places of worship and on institutions are few instances. If such kind of atrocities happens to continue, severe protest will be held in future, he said.
SCYM former president Nelson Monis said, in the country where “Sarve Jana Sukinobhavanthu” principles are followed, Why does such kind of atrocities take place?
Prime priest of Rosario Cathedral Church Fr J B Crasta welcomed. Ravikumar Crasta compeered the program and thanked.
Protesters prayed to the Lord to change the minds of those who attack on Christians and their institutions.
