Poor quality fake beedies sold illegally – CCB police arrest one, prime accused absconded.

Mangaluru, June 30: The CCB police have arrested Mehaboob (44), on the charges of illegal sale of poor quality beedies.

The prime accused Abdul Rahman from Shira managed to escape.

Accused Mehaboob was caught while illegally selling poor quality beedies under the brand name of Prithvi beedies by using a fake company name.

The CCB police gathered information about the sale of these inferior quality beedies sold in Bengaluru under the fake brand name of Prithvi beedies. The police arrested Mehbaboob while he was engaged in sale of beedies near the fly over junction in front of Ranganath hotel at Chamrajpet and handed him over to the Chamarajpet police.

Abdul Rehman used to manufacture these inferior quality beedies while Mehaboob supplied them to various shops and make them to believe that those were Preethi beedies of Mangaluru. But the price was not mentioned on the packets. The uneducated, innocent customers were duped. The smart accused used to sell the inferior beedies at the same price as of the Preethi beedies ofMangaluru.

The prime accused Abdul Rehman was caught red handed by the CCB police along with the valuables in red sanders operation. He was later released on bail post which he switched on to this illegal beedi manufacture. Police are on a look out for him.
