Serial theft at Konaje, seven shops burgled, items worth over Rs 5 lakhs stolen.

Mangaluru, July1: Serial thefts have taken place in shops near Konaje and burgled over Rs 5 lakh valuables on the night of Tuesday June 30th.

The thieves broke open the shutters of all the shops.
They entered into ‘Amma Studio’ and stole three SLR cameras worth about Rs 2 lakhs. Cell phones and chargers worth about Rs 2 lakhs were reportedly stolen from the mobile shop owned by Sahal. Cell phones worth about Rs 20,000 were stolen from another mobile shop owned by Harish.

Cash and cigarette packets were stolen from, ‘Ravi Xerox’, a provision store belonging to Muhammed N K, a bakery owned by Sadiq and Ideal Juice Centre, all the shops are located close to each other.

Some chemicals were found to have been used by the thieves at certain spots, reportedly to erase finger prints if any left behind by them.

Konaje police along with finger print experts visited the spot and investigated.
