Mangaluru, August 29: Six miscreants on the mid night of Friday gained entry to the house of BJP leader Chandrashekar Ucchil and attempted to murder.
Chandrashekar is the BJP president of Ullal constituency.
Yesterday night, Manjanady residents Nazir, Rafeeq, Taisar, Rameez, Ruksan, and Fiyaz Kinya along with deadly weapons suddenly entered the house of Chandrashekar Ucchil and attempted deadly attack on his relative Rajesh Ucchil who was present there. Rajesh escaped from the attack and caught hold of an accused named Ruksan, taking the help of his friends and handed him over to Ullal police.
Rajesh Ucchil is Someshwar panchayat president.
Reason for the attack is not known.
Ullal police have registered a case and are investigating.
The Dakshina Kannada BJP district committee has strongly condemned this attack and has urged the concerned for immediate arrest of the accused and initiate stringent actions against the culprits.
