Bantwal, August 31: Controversy has been sparked after comment on Twitter by a youth justifying the murder of popular scholar Prof M M Kalburgi, who was shot dead at his residence in Dharwad on Sunday August 30th.
It is learnt that Bhuvith Shetty, reportedly the activist of Bantwal unit of Bajrang Dal, along with justifying Prof Kalburgi’s murder, also warned that Prof K S Bhagwan, who is known for his controversial comments on Hinduism; would be the ‘next’.
‘Then it was U R Anantamoorty and now its M M Kalburgi. Mock Hinduism and die a dog’s death. And dear K S Bhagwan, you are next’, stated the message in his twitter handle @GarudaPurana posted at 10.41 am, just two hours after Prof Kalburgi was shot.
The post witnessed many criticism later. It is learnt that Bhuvith deleted the tweets later.
It is learnt that Bantwal police have decided to register a suo motu case against Bhuvith under IPC sections 153 and 506.
