All India Bundh called tomorrow for fulfilment of various demands of workers: Several Labours union call for bundh

Mangaluru, September 1: Demanding to resolve about 12 basic problems of Labours, the Central Labours Associations have called for All India bundh on September 2nd.

All India Transport Employees union has also agreed to join this protest called by Central Labours Union urging to fulfil various demands. On this account, the private service, express and City bus employees of the district are participating in this protest.

On September 2nd, private buses will remain off the road as the transport employees union is also participating in this protest, announced the Motor Transport an Engineering workers Union and CIT Chief Secretary Vasanth Aachary and the president of Bus Employees Association Ashok, Secretary Vishwanath Kulal.

The KSRTC staffs and workers association Mangaluru unit which is affiliated to the AITUC has given a call to all the employees of road transportation corporations to voluntarily take part in this protest on September 2nd.

Along with the employees associations, as the private service, express and city bus employees, KSRTC staffs are joining the protest, the public’s may face inconveniences. The students may face difficulty in reaching their schools/colleges. Transport, bank, insurance, post, and industrial zones may face inconveniences. It will be insulting fact if the shops and hotels which support the bundh open their shutters during bundh. Along with this as the services of daily necessities will be affected.

Even the employees of the mid day meals program are also supporting this protest stated a release.

The Bharatyia Majdoor Sangha has remained away from this bundh. The president of the association K Vishwanath Shetty has said that the association will not participate in this bundh.

Addressing a press meet in the city, he said the central government has taken a stand to fulfil various demands and address many problems. It has consented to resolve various problems and has said that it needs some time. Although the central government has consented to the labour associations, it is inevitable to give them some time for the amendments in the present law and get the consent for it. In this view, it has been decided not to protest, he said.

In the press meet, secretary Gopalkrishna, office bearers K N Puroshottam, Narayana Shetty, Prabhahkar and others were present.
