Various unions support bundh, protest against anti-labour policies of central government.

Mangaluru, September 2: Various unions such as CITU, INTUC, HMS, AITUC, along with those affiliated to various organizations supporting the Bharat bundh held a protest near the DC’s office here against the anti-labour policies of the central government on Wednesday September 2nd.

The bandh has received good response in Mangaluru. Majority of shops and business establishments remained closed. As the public transport system was not available, schools and colleges remained closed.

State secretary of INTUC, Sadashiva Shetty addressed the protesters and said, this labour policy of the central government is unfavourable to the working class and would deprive them of their basic benefits. In future, the working class should be ready to stage severe protests demanding withdrawal of these anti-labour policies of the government.

AIBEA leader Vincent said, the labour policies proposed by union government are unfavourable to the working class. These amendments will curtail the rights of the working class and will hinder the growth of the labour class. We will stage severe protest in future if the government fails to agree to our demand, he said.

CITU leader Vasantha Acharaya, Rafeeq of HMS was also present among others on this occasion.
