Speaking after meeting Sundar Malekudiya and discussing with the doctors, Yechury addressed media representatives and said, this is a serious and inhumane crime. I came here to express solidarity to Sunder Malekudiya and his family. This incident is an example for the atrocities taking place against the tribal’s. Already the tribal bill is passed in the parliament related to the title deeds of the tribal lands. This incident is an example to illustrate that the state governments have not implemented the bill appropriately.

Sitaram Yechury said he would draw the attention of the parliament over this incident. Many incidents have continued to take place similar to the case of Sunder Malekudiya who underwent atrocities in the hands of his landlord, he said.

It would be brought to the attention of the parliament that in Karnataka, the tribal bill is not yet implemented and will be pressurized for the implementation of the same. The government has to take care of medical expenses of Sunder Malekudiya, said Sitaram Yechury.

Conversing on the recent incident of alleged moral policing at Attavar, he said it is highly condemnable.
