Mangaluru, September 3: In connection to the murder of Kannada scholar and researcher Prof M M Kalburgi, Former convener of Shri Rama Sene – Prasad Attavar (39), has been taken to custody for questioning by Mangaluru central crime branch (CCB) police on Thursday, September 3rd.
Prof Kalburgi was shot dead by two persons at his residence in Dharwad on August 30th. Cid is investigating this case. The sketches of suspects have also been released by police.
Sources said, Prasad has been handed over to Bunder police station and is being interrogated.
According to the sources, some messages related to M M Kalburgi were circulated in the social media carrying Prasad Attavar’s photo. Hence, Police have been reportedly questioning him to discover whether the messages originated from him.
Prasad Attavar – the prime accused in connection to the pub attack had worked as convener in Pramod Muthalik’s Sri Rama Sene for a long time. Later he separated from the Shri Rama Sene and formed his own Rama Sene.
