Yatish murder  case- key accused under custody

Mangalore, August 20:Regarding the murder of Yatish, a resident of Ombattukere and auto rickshaw driver by profession, who was an activist of Hindu organizations on last Friday night at Thokkottu, the city crime branch cops have successfully taken the main accused into custody on Tuesday August 19th.

The accused has been identified as Udayraj from Bagambila. He is being investigated by the police personnel’s.

Yatish had been murdered after two groups clashed with each other over the issue of a song in the bar where they were partying on Independence Day. As per information gathered by the cops, Uday had fled after stabbing Yatish to death.

On Friday night, two groups of youth seated at different tables were partying on the eve of Independence Day. When Yatish’s friend started singing to karaoke music, another group mocked at him which led to verbal friction between the two groups. Sooner it turned into fistfight.

It is gathered that the other group which opposed to the group led by Yatish called over the phone to Udayraj Shetty from Bagambila, who they knew was a sworn enemy of Yatish. Udayraj Shetty. Who was in the city at that moment, rushed to the spot. By the time Uday reached the bar, Yatish had finished the party and came out of the bar, and was about to board his auto rickshaw to return home. Uday stabbed Yatish and fled from the scene, resulting in the death of the auto rickshaw driver.

It is gathered that some more persons were taken for questioning. Further investigations are in progress.
