Kundapur, August 21: A mysterious death of a woman identified as Girijamma(78) is reported to have occurred at Manuru of Kota village. It is gathered that, after her husband’s death, she lived alone since 25 years. Thursday morning, one of the women from a nearby house observed this and passed the message to Girijamma’s relatives.
Pertaining to this death; suspicions have aroused that whether it is a normal one or a murder.
It is gathered that, the old woman spoke gently with her neighbour, watched T.V and returned to her home later stating that she was suffering from Asthma and needed to relax, she had also wrapped a cloth around her head. Morning, the neighbouring woman came to the house to supply milk found the door closed. When she called the old lady, there was no response. Later, the door was forced open and the old lady was found dead.
Roofing tiles at bathroom was removed:
The three roofing tiles of the bathroom are removed and the locals suspect that burglars might have done it. But the police investigations have revealed that the tiles were removed a few days ago and no jewellery or the things are found stolen.
The dog squad and finger print specialists were brought to the spot. The dog had gone 400 metres till the compound and returned back.
District Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad, DySP Prabhudev Mane, DCIB Inspector Jayashankar, Udupi station C.P.I Srikanth Rao C.P.I Gopal Naik of , Udupi station, Sub-Inspector Girish, Sub-Inspector KR Naik of Kota Station and others investigated the spot .
SP said that a case is registered in Kota police station and brisk investigations are on.
