Dr Heggade inaugurates office of Vishwa Tuluvere Parba -2014

Mangalore, Aug 31: Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshetra Dharamasthala inaugurated the office for Vishwa Tuluvere Parba-2014, organized by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy and Akhila Bharatha Tulu Okutta (R) on August 31, Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Heggade said that Dakshina Kannada is blessed with rich resources like rivers, agricultural land and also human beings. In the present day, the people of tulunad have achieved success in various fields, including politics.

Dakshina Kannada is known as the educational hub. Around 40% of the students come from various parts of the country to our district to pursue education. The district has many hospitals and has the credit of producing experts in fields like art, health and literature. Further it is the duty of people of Tulunad to preserve its culture and tradition, he said.

Dr Heggade who launched the website of the event said that, ‘Vishwa Tuluvere Parba-2014’ will be held at premises of Sahyadri College, Adyar on December 12, 13 and 14. It also invites various Tulu organizations all over the world.

MLC Ivan D’Souza assured to discuss including the language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution with CM. After the inclusion, it will be taught in schools and colleges as the third language.

MCC Mayor Mahabala Marla said that the tulu speaking of the district must preserve and promote their language.

Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president Janaki Bramhavar, said that ‘Tulu is a culture and is not just limited to language. It has the quality of uniting people and expressed confidence of making the event a successful one.

District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai unveiled the emblem of Vishwa Tuluvere Parba-2014 and said that, the culture and tradition of Tulunadu are unique and it is a matter of pride that one can find Tulu speaking people from Dakshina Kannada everywhere.

State Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khadar, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Thonse Jayakrishna A Shetty, Dharmapal U Devadiga, A C Bhandary, B Damodar Nisarga, Daya Kirodian and others were present.
