Bengaluru:  The organisers of Kiss of Love event have stated that they have not yet received any written communication from the police about denial of permission for the event, which they have planned to hold in front to Town Hall on November 30.
The volunteers have expressed displeasure over the city police’s demand to change the name of the event.
Refusing to comply, the group said, “We refuse to the change of name of the movement. In this democratic country it’s our basic right to choose the mode and form of protest and most importantly, the name of the protest, as long as it falls within the boundaries of our constitution and law. We refuse to be moral policed about how we should carry out our protest against moral policing. Denying us permission citing the mode and name of the protest is questioning our rights to protest.”
The supporters of the campaign have resolved they would go ahead with the protest. The message posted on their official page read, “We are moving forward with the protest and expecting every single person who would like to express their solidarity towards the voice against moral policing will gather there with us.”
Showing solidarity, the lead campaigner of Kochi’s “Kiss of Love” protest, Rahul said, “There are no doubts about that. We will host the event at any cost, even if it leads to arrest. Police in Kochi too had denied permission, but we went ahead as decided and held the campaign.”
