BENGALURU: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is investigating the alleged sexual harassment of a 48-year-old singer by Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swami, seer of the Ramachandrapura Math, has reportedly revealed that the seer has sexually harassed the former.

CID sources said the officials had also submitted the status report of the case to the government last week. “The investigation is almost complete and we are in the final stage of the probe. A chargesheet will also be submitted to the court in a week or two,” a source said.

“We have received the medical and forensic reports and these reports confirm that the seer had sexually harassed the victim. Based on the findings of the report, a status report has been already submitted to the government. In addition, the chargesheet will also be prepared and the documents related to the medical and forensic reports will be furnished along with it. The chargesheet would be filed in the court in a week or two,” the source said.

“The case was complex as the victim was allegedly harassed on several occasions. It was difficult to find out whether it was rape or consensual. The investigation has made things clear. We have also consulted legal experts and have taken their advise on what all charges has to be framed against the seer,” the source added.

However, no senior officials in the CID came on record about submitting the status report to the government, but confirmed that the investigation was in the final stage. It may be recalled that a renowned Ramkatha singer had filed a case against the seer accusing him of sexually harassing her on several occasions. The case, which was filed last year, was handed over to the CID for further investigation. The seer had gone several types of medical tests in December.
