Mumbai: Former home minister of the state and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, RR Patil was admitted in the intensive care unit of Bombay Hospital in New Marine Lines after he suffered a heart attack on Saturday.

After Patil, 57, suffered a heart attack on Saturday at his residence. A doctor immediately gave him a cardiac massage and rushed him to Bombay Hospital. Patil is admitted under the care of renowned cardiac surgeon Dr BK Goyal.

“An angiography was done but it does not show any blockages. It is incomprehensible as to what caused the heart attack. We are keeping him under observation, and doing more investigations to ascertain what caused the attack,” said a doctor from the hospital.

The heart attack comes at a time just when Patil was recovering from a severe dental ailment for which he was admitted for a prolonged period at Breach Candy Hospital couple of weeks ago.
