Mumbai: Riteish Deshmukh, Pulkit Samrat and Karan Anshuman are delighted with the shift in the release date of their upcoming film ‘Bangistan’. The trio in a candid chat talked about many things but one person that stole the limelight was Riteish Deshmukh. We bring you the top 5 highlights from their candid chat.

On ‘Bangistan’ banned in Pakistan

“As far as I know they have banned the film by just looking at the promo and I have had a talk with Ritesh Siddwani and told him that in isolation there can be many things which may go against the film. Promos are designed to titillate your imagination so that you come and watch the film you will come to know the film is an anti-terrorism film. Until and unless you see the entire film, you will feel like it is opposite to one’s idealism but that is not true. I feel if the Censor Board watch the film then they will realise that this film is not against any religion, it is not anti those people who propagate terrorism through religion, which is a greater issue than any other issue faced by any nation today.”

On Pulkit taking a stand for Salman Khan

“Every person can have opinion and should have an opinion and their opinion should be respected. What Salman tweeted was very clear of what he said and rightfully so when he took his tweets he realised that the kind of world we are living right now, social media and every reacting on it. Most of the people reacted on his tweets, which further aggravated the issue. Many times the only problem with social media is people react pre-maturely and then the debate starts if it’s correct or not correct. Then there are various interests of various parties, which come onboard and divert attention and many times we do become soft targets and hence we shy giving our opinion on public domain.”

When he said he does not choose films keeping his political background in mind

“If I had chosen films keeping my political background in mind then I wouldn’t have done ‘Grand Masti’.”

He also revealed his most embarrassing moment on television

“The time I did lavani on ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ stage that was the most embarrassing moment ever. I didn’t realise this when I was actually in the act but when I came home and showed the video to Genelia and told her that I am very sorry about this.

Meanwhile Pulkit quipped, “I got the back side view and I can say it was amazing.”

On doing more grey shade roles

“When I was offered ‘Ek Villain I came and told my wife Genelia and she asked me about my role to which I said there’s this guy who loves his wife a lot but wants to kill her. The dilemma for him is should I love her or kill her so she said you would be able to play this perfectly. I don’t know why she said that.”
