Dana Vulin, 28, of Perth, Australia had her entire life rearranged when she was assaulted and set on fire. She suffered third-degree burns on nearly 60% of her body. She had talked with the ladies’ husband at a party and she didn’t take it kindly.
Dana is an amazing person who did not allow depression and fear take over. She continued on with life with her head high.
Dana had numerous reconstructive surgeries and was finally able to take off her mask (literally) to see her new face. She is not concerned about looking different. She told Australia’s Channel Seven’s Sunday Night, “I hope they see the scars. This is part of me now.”

This is Dana before the attacks
The woman, Natalie Dimitrovska, while under the influence of drugs broke into her apartment and soaked her with flammable fluids. She then lit her on fire and laughed as she ran out.
She ended up with third-degree burns that covered 64% of her body. Even her mother didn’t recognize her.

She took a long 30 months to heal. She was forced to wear this mask which made her feel as if she was a “no one. “
She appeared in court and testified against her attacker. Her attacker was sentenced to 17 years in jail.
While recovering from the burns, she also learned that she had cervical cancer.
But she didn’t give up…
But that mask was still there haunting her.
Finally, she appeared on a television news program to take off her mask and appear in a fashion catwalk on television.
She says, “It would’ve been easier to die, but I’ve never taken the easy road to anything…but if someone were to ask me how I feel about my body — I am damn proud of it.”
Then she does the big reveal.

She says, “I hope they’ll see strength, power, confidence, self-respect, courage, and determination.”
Dana says, “I am a strong person, and more than anything that I’ve learnt in my burn is that I will never change and I know the person I am and I’m confident in the woman that I am.”
Dana proves that you can heal the outside.
She tells us, “I have worked so hard everyday and the results are starting to really show. Although the progress is slow, I’m starting to look like Dana again.”
