Mumbai: Now that there’s captive clamouring audience for S S Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’—the film has already crossed the Rs 180 crore mark in India— the director also has a very angry audience to deal with.

Everyone demands to know why Rajamouli left the first part of the story unfinished and why we must we wait till 2016 to see the rest of the engrossing story.

For the first time Rajamouli explains his epic’s truncated format. “It was planned as a two-part film. Frankly, I planned the declaration of Baahubali as the King as the end of first part. And I felt the twist in the end is a very poetic suspense. I didn’t mean it as a rude shock to the audience.”

Rajamouli explains he needs some time to complete the second part of the Baahubali saga “I need one year to complete the shoot and post- production of the second part.40% of the second part of Baahubali has been shot.

Rajamouli reveals there are no plans to take Baahubali beyond the second film. But there is a likelihood of a television series based on Baahubali. “We won’t go beyond the second part as far as cinema is concerned.. The story ends with the second part. But we are contemplating a TV series. When you see your theory is proved by practical application, your confidence level goes up a notch higher. A success like Baahubali gives immense satisfaction.”
