Bangalore, Oct 23, 2013, DHNS: A real estate businessman lost Rs 14 lakh when unidentified miscreants lifted the bag of cash kept on his two-wheeler, by diverting his attention while a mechanic was servicing it in Electronics City on Wednesday afternoon.

Gajendra, a resident of Maragondanahalli, Jigani, had withdrawn the money from Indian Bank near Infosys in Electronics City 1st Phase, as he had bought a property and was to register it on Thursday.

When he came out of the bank, he found the rear wheel of his motorcycle punctured. He then phoned a mechanic who reached there in a few minutes.

In a foolhardy decision, Gajendra kept the bag of cash on the bike and watched the mechanic who got to work. After a while when Gajendra looked for the bag, it was missing, police explained.

Investigators have said the footage of the CCTV camera installed near the bank was being verified for a clue. It seemed four men who came on two motorcycles lifted the bag, they added.

A case has been booked at the Electronics City police station.
