Thumbay Group, the Dubai-based international business conglomerate honored five doctors from its Thumbay Hospital network, with awards for clinical excellence. The clinical excellence awards acknowledged the awardees’ outstanding professional expertise and skills in successfully treating patients admitted to Thumbay Hospitals with rare/complex medical conditions.
The awards were presented to the doctors by Mr. Thumbay Moideen – Founder President of Thumbay Group, at a special function held at Gulf Medical University – Ajman on Sunday, 24th April 2016, in the presence of Prof. Gita Ashok Raj – Provost of Gulf Medical University, Mr. Akbar Moideen Thumbay – Vice President of the Healthcare Division of Thumbay Group, Dr. Manvir Singh Walia – Administrative Director of the Healthcare Division of Thumbay Group and other members of the administrative team of Thumbay Group.
The recipients of the awards were Dr. Mahmoud Farouk Mohamed Elmahdi – lnterventional Cardiologist at Thumbay Hospital – Ajman (Procedure performed: Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty), Dr. Yasser Atwa – Specialist Ophthalmology at Thumbay Hospital – Dubai (Procedure performed: Pterygium Operation with Auto Craft without any Suture), Dr. Ramachandran Rajagopal – Specialist Dermatology at Thumbay Hospital – Dubai (Procedure performed: Extremely rare overwhelming skin disorder, diagnosed and treated within 48 hours; and one more procedure), Dr. Soman Sukumaran Nair – Specialist Ophthalmology at Thumbay Hospital – Dubai (Procedure performed: Ocular squamous cell neoplasia excision; and ROP), Dr. Seyed Mohsen Mahmoodi – Professor & Consultant Orthopedics & Medical Director at Thumbay Hospital – Dubai (Procedure performed: Acute pancreatitis complicated with acute respiratory distress syndrome, first case reported; and four more procedures).
