It usually attacks people between the ages of 30-70.

Every year around 366 million people suffers from the type 2 diabetics all around the globe.  However, the rapid increase in the overweight people can lead to 522 million diabetics patients till 2030. Such a large number of patients will certainly put a huge burden on the entire health care system.

The experts of Harvard University carefully examined the eating habits of nearly 194,000 people. Afterwards, the researchers discovered a close relation between the intake of yogurt and type 2 diabetes.

Moreover, they concluded that people who eat merely 28g of yogurt daily reduces the risk of diabetes up to 18 percent.  Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind that the study lacks the cause and effect relation.

Frank Hu, the lead researcher of the study informed that experts observed that yogurt is inversely proportional to the Type 2 diabetes.  However, the consumption of other food products related to milk failed to demonstrates similar effect on the disease.

Earlier, a few studies proposed that particular fatty acids, calcium and magnesium plays a vital role in the prevention of all types of diabetes.

However, the researchers from Harvard School of Public Health found no clear preventative effect from other dairy products.
