Mangalore, October 17: The young couple Sonia D’Souza (21) of Elyarpadavu and Roshan M.S (24) from Bantwal tied knots at the Arya Samaj in Mangalore on October 16th, Thursday.
Sonia had decided to marry her fiancé Roshan amid opposition from her family and walked out of her house recently. Her parents lodged a missing complaint.
Meanwhile, the families of both Roshan and Sonia got a hint that the duo had decided to wed at Arya Samaj. Several people had gathered outside the venue and there was much exchange of words between Sonia and her mother. The mom wished her daughter to return home. But Sonia said she was determined to lead her life with Roshan.
The Konaje as well as Kadri police arrived at the spot and gathered statements from both Roshan and Sonia. They also suggested Roshan to lodge a complaint against Sonia’s father who had threatened him of life.
