Puttur, December 1: The passengers of a private bus escaped luckily after fire broke out in a bus plying from Bengaluru to Mangaluru before sun rise on December 1st Monday early morning.
When the private bus Seabird, reached Sannampady near Uppinangady, the fire was noticed at around 5 am and the passengers rushed out immediately, sources said.
It is gathered, among 25 passengers who were in the bus, two were injured. One of the injured is a woman, and she has been admitted to hospital in Puttur, said the police sources.
The bus was completely charred. The exact cause for the fire is not yet known, but guessed to have occurred due to a short circuit.
A case has been registered by Uppinangady cops.
