Campco “Agri-Machinery fair-2015” inaugurated in Puttur.

Mangaluru, January 24: The “Agri machinery fair- III-2015” three day long program from January 24th to 26th; organized in the premises of Vivekananda Institute of Technology under the aegis of Campco arecanut research and development foundation(R), Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology and Vivekananda Polytechnic was inaugurated on Saturday, January 24th.

Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshethra Dharmasthala Dr D Veerendra Heggade who presided over the programme, inaugurated the programme. Ananath Kumar, Union minister for chemical and chemical fertilizers inaugurated the Agri Machinery fair and exhibition stalls.

Union minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises G M Siddeshwar hoisted the flag. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel was the special guest during the event.

A special envelope possessing the portrait of Varanasi Subraya Bhat, the founder of Campco Company was released by Indriya Anurag, Post Master General, South Karnataka Regional. On the same occasion, a book on arecanut was also released by the guests.

Balarama Acharya, President of Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology released the director of Agricultural Machineries.

President of Campco Company Konkodi Padmanabha welcomed the dignitaries. Balarama Acharya thanked.

The three day long fair organized spending a budget of 70 lakh stations 240 exhibition stalls. Eight farmer innovators are participating in this fair during which over three lakh people are expected to participate.

A seminar was organized on “Kisan Samsat” in the afternoon. The machinery was showcased in the evening. Cultural programmes will be presented in the evening by Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Associations’ Educational Institutes.

Valedictory ceremony:

The valedictory ceremony will be organized on Monday, 26th January under the guidance of Dr D Veerendra Heggade and the event will be presided over by Konkodi Padmanabha, the president of Campco.

Minister of forests and DK district in-charge-minister B Ramanath Rai, Miniater of Kerala State Agriculture and animal husbandry K P Mohan, Puttur MLA Shakunthala Shetty, SCDCC president Dr M N Rajendra Kumar and others will participate in the program.

Campco vice-president K Sathish Bhandary, managing director Suresh Bhandary M, Balarama Acharya, President of Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Professor A V Narayana, President of Vivekananda Polytechnic Puttur, E Shivaprasad, secretary  of Vivekananda educational institutions, Dr S Keshava Bhat, CEO ARDF Mangaluru and others were present.

During the programme, seminars will be held on daily toddy extraction, solar energy, controlling of wild animals. Along with this, exhibition on various equipments, cultural programmes and magic show will also be organized.

Key features:

Across 1.5 km length, 240 stalls are completely filled and still there is a demand for more stalls.

Giant co-operative associations of our state such as TSS, Mamcos, Tumkos and various giant associations have special plans of bringing the farers to the machinery fair.

The farmers are contacted by various branches of Campco in Mangaluru, Puttur, Kasargod, Shivamogga, Shirasi and Tumkur regional office and it is expected that the farmers participate in large numbers.

  • Central Agri Engineering of Coimbatore, Hassan Agricultural Department, Trissur Agricultural Department are exhibiting their unique machineries.
  • About 45 machinery will be exhibited to the Engineering students for Varanasi Subraya Bhat award.
