Mangaluru, October 10: The six sports persons of Mangaluru who exhibited a marvellous performance at the Asian Benchpress Power Lifting Championship that had taken place in Muscat from October 1st to October 6th were extended a warm welcome while they arrived at the Mangaluru Central Railway Station on Friday, October 9th.
In the Asian Benchpress Power Lifting Championship, Sathish Kudroli, Vivek Kamath, won the Gold while Vincent Prakash Carlo won the Bronze. Jayappa Lamani, Uday Kumar and Nayana Shriyan won the Silver.
When the sportsmen arrived at the railway station here, people welcomed them through Chende and band. Later they were taken in an open Jeep procession to Gymnasium in Car Street.
On this occasion, Excise Joint Commissioner Rajendra Prasad, leaders Tejomaya, Purandaradaasa Kuloor, Ganesh Shetty, Prakash Kumar, Krishan Murthy Rao, Chandrashekar Rai, and others were present.
