Udupi; Sept 03: God has gifted many talented, creative artists to the district, resulting the birth of many artists. Many of our artists have engraved their names in national and international level also. One such, talent has been born in the same soil of Udupi and his name is Vasantha Devadiga. Originally he is from Hebri in Udupi district and an artist in painting. From his childhood only, he was evincing an interest in painting and Someshwara’s nature only, inspiration for his interest in painting.
After finishing his primary and pre-degree education and apart from drawing color paintings, which enable the students of schools and colleges to learn quickly, he also prepares more than 20-30 Ganesh idols, statues every year during Ganeshotsava festival.
Art of work and preparation with clay, member of artist forum, Udupi, member of Chitrakala parishad, Participation as material resource man in Kalashibhira and after participation in Kala camps, training the students are , some of the hobbies of Vasanth Devadiga. Besides he is the lover of light songs.
Vasanth was born on July 9, 1993 to Smt Vasanthi Devadiga and Bhaskar Devadiga and is youngest amongst the three children . Currently he is employed as an instructor in Amratha Bharathi Drishya School of arts. He participated In television ‘Sarane’programme in the name of Shivarpane and attended many interviews in local T Vs.
Besides he has also organized exhibitions of art of his paintings in Chitrakala parishat, Kannada Sahitya, Conferences, Drishya School of arts. He has also been awarded with Chitrakala Parishat Prashashti, Kannada Sahitya Sammelana Prashashti, Karnataka Rakshana Vedhike prashasti and many other awards and laurels
