Sagar (Shimoga Dist), Aug 15, 2013:Four people were killed and two sustained grievous injuries when a car in which they were travelling, collided with a KSRTC bus near Aalalli-Balegar Cross on NH-206 in Sagar taluk on Thursday.
They were on their way to see Jog Falls, when the accident occurred.
Mahesh (30), Hanumantoji Rao Kerehalli (50), Prakash (40) and Gurumurthy Belakodu (27), residents of Vinayaka Nagar, Ripponpet in Hosanagar taluk, are the dead. Vinayak Vadigeri and Mahesh are being treated at a government hospital in Shimoga.
According to police, Prakash passed away in the hospital, while the other three died on the spot. The accident occurred when the speeding KSRTC bus — coming from Yallapura — rammed into the car. Town police have registered a complaint.
