A 30-year-old woman was found murdered in her residence in Gorgunteplaya, RMC Yard police station limits on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Parijatha, homemaker and wife of a businessman. Her body was found lying in a pool of blood by neighbours and fire servicemen at around 2.30 pm. Fire personnel were called in fter neighbours first thought a fire had broken out in the victim’s house. However, the ‘smoke’ and ‘smell’ that neighbours mistook for something burning was pepper spray someone had used in Parijatha’s house.

Parijatha was alone when she was murdered; her husband was at work and two children in school. S Ravi, joint commissioner of police (law and order-West) said, “As of now we can only say she was killed with lethal weapons by unknown persons. Who killed her and why is yet to be ascertained.” Police say there was forced entry, but miscreants had ransacked the house and made away with gold jewellery and other valuables.
