Mangalore,sept.15: Titular feast of Exaltation of the Holy Cross was celebrated in agrand manner at the Holy Cross Church Cordel, Kulshekar on the 14th September, 2014. The celebration was made meaningful with the grand Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Very Rev. Fr Victor Machado,
Director of Pastoral Institute, Bajjodi Mangalore. Very Rev. Fr Victor Machado gave a meaningful homily on becoming victorious with the cross.
Prior to the Eucharistic Celebration Parish Priest Very Rev Fr Valerian Pinto felicitated all donors. A year back church flooring was carried out. So on the occasion feast of Holy Cross all donors who contributed for the renovation of the church flooring work were honored with mementos. Mr Praveen Patrao, Vice President of Parish Pastoral Parishad, Mr Michael D’Souza Secretary of Parish Pastoral Parishad were present for the felicitation program.
This feast was preceded by nine days of Novena. For the first time in the History of Cordel Church Novena of the Holy Cross was conducted and Blessings of the Holy Relic of Holy Cross was given. Many devotees attended Novena masses. Feast day Eucharistic celebration was concelebrated by sixteen priests. The feast was extra colorful with the different lucky games conducted by various organizations like ICYM, YCS and Altar Boys.
