Udupi, September 23: Mr Arthur Douglas Barboza passed away in Kuwait on Saturday September 20th, he hails from Shankarapur in Udupi district.
The embassy of Kuwait has passed a message to the NRI Forum of the government of Karnataka. The reason behind the death is yet to be known.
He was the son of John Barboza and Dulcine Rodrigues. The mortal remains have been kept in a mortuary in Kuwait.
The vice chairman of the forum through Anand Mirji conveyed the news to the family through Kundapur Revenue Assistant Commissioner Yogesh on Monday night September 22nd.
The forum is interacting with the embassy of Kuwait regarding repatriation of the mortal remains or possibility of performing the final rites in the Gulf state. It is also in touch with the Indian embassy in Kuwait.
Because of long holidays in the Middle East for Eid-al-Adha, during which the government offices and private establishments would remain closed, the family members are anxious that the hand-over process would fetch a long time.
