Massive Protest organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Bajrangala Dala demanding judicial action against the defaulters.

Mangalore, October 13: Vishwa hindu parishat DK district union and Bajrangala Dala Mangalore union had organised a massive protest in front of the district commissioners office on Monday, October 13th , demanding the dismiss of police inspector and constables who were involved in the life threatening assault of hindu youth by the police.

The VHP leader Jagadish Shenava addressed the protesters and said, hindu activist Charan who was at his residence with his family was asked to visit the police station on a false eve and badly tortured by the police at the station even though he had not committed any mistakes, this act of the cops who tortured him is stoppable. Bound to the political pressures, the responsible Police inspector who has behaved in such an in-humane manner has made the Police department to bow down. Such kind of officials who bow to some-ones pressures and assault on the innocents must be immediately dismissed from service. The protesters they demanded that constables who supported this officer must also be dismissed from service.

Former member of the Legislative Council- the BJP leader Monappa Bhandari spoke on this occasion and said, the suppression on the hindu youths in our state has hiked now; as instructed by specific persons, the cops are assaulting the hindu youths. He alleged that, this involves political conspiracy and is a technique to root –out the hindu associations.

Monappa Bhandari has demanded and urged to take legal action against the Police Inspector Umesh Kumar and two other police personnel’s to immediately suspended them alleging that, as instructed by the political motivators, only on the due reason of being a hindu activist the innocent youth Charan was invited to the station and was tortured badly by the Cops.

A appeal was made by the opponents mission, requesting the detailed investigation into the case which was submitted to the  city police commissioner and the deputy commissioner.

Case details: A plaint against the Sub-Inspector of Kavoor Police station and also the two personnels for torturing an activist named Charan.

Mangalore: Charan resides at Moodushedde along with his wife and Kid. He is a carpenter by profession and also an activist of an hindu association. On October 8th 2014, around 11am he was at his residence. Personnel from Kavoor police station named Sharath who was familiar to Charan, visited his residence and asked to meet the sub-Inspector Umesh Kumar who was waiting in the jeep. Then Charan went to the venue where the jeep was parked. The Sub-Inspector Umesh Kumar and two personnel’s were in the jeep. As Charan approached the jeep, the Sub-Inspector got down from the jeep striked him black and blue, post which Charan was taken to the police station in the same jeep.

In the police station, the two cops (One personnel Sharath who was familiar to Charan and the other not familiar to Charan) held Charan tightly against a cement pole where he was beaten-up severely by the Sub-Inspector Umesh Kumar until 3 lathis were completely shattered . However loud Charan screamed, it did not resist the cop from beating Charan. When queried as “Why do you strike me?” – they said how dare you to attend the court..

He was tortured for the reason that, in the past Charan had failed to attend the police station on some case, but straight away he went to the court and got the bail.

As a result of striking severely at his bottom, his blood has  clotted and he is unable to walk now. He is even unable to sleep on his back .

It is requested in the appeal to dismiss the Sub-Inspector Umesh Kumar and two personnel’s who have badly tortured innocent victim Charan and take suitable judicial action against them and provide justice to the innocent victim Charan.
