Mangaluru, November 5: Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda visited Patrika Bhavan in the city on Wednesday.
He was extended a warm welcomed by the DK district working Journalists association PB Harish Rai, general secretary Shrinivas Indaje, vice president Jagannath Shetty Baala, and chairman of the press club Ramakrishna R.
Speaking at the press club he said, the media is responsible to strengthen the democracy in our country. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi met me after the restructure of the new government in the centre. He also added that the media had taken the key role in emerging as the Prime Minister of our country.
The citizens who were fed up of the corrupt UPA government had decided to cast their majority votes for a party and BJP was credited by it. I have done better works during my shot span of term as a Prime Minister. But I was unable to get more publicity through the media, he said.
