Coast Guard ACV’s will be commissioned by Governor Vajubhai Vala on November 10th.

Mangaluru, November 8: Governor of Karnataka Vajubhai Vala will commission “The Indian Coast Guard’s Air Cushion Vehicles (ACVs) H-196 and H-198 on Monday November 10th. IG SPS Basra, YSM, PTM, TM Commander Coast Region (West) will be present,” informed Rajamani Sharma, deputy inspector general of Indian Coast Guard and commander of Coast Guard in Karnataka state in a press meet held at the Coast Guard centre station district headquarters here on Friday November 7th.

He said, “The Indian Coast Guard ship ‘Samudra Prahari’ is the first vessel in the country to be fitted with the modern pollution control equipment which was commissioned from Visakhapatnam. ‘Samudra Paheredar’ is the second pollution control vessel commissioned from Gujarat,” he added.

He also revealed that the third pollution control vessel ‘Samudra Pavak’ will be stationed at the earliest.

He said, the newly commissioned patrol surveillance vehicle ‘Amartya’ will approach Mangaluru coast tomorrow and will be stationed here. This will perform multiple tasks like surveillance, interdiction, search and rescue and medical evacuation. ‘Amartya’, ‘Amal’ and C-410 were commissioned from Goa.

In the press meet, Anupam Rai, commanding officer of coast ship ‘Rajdooth’, DIG of coastal guard Kailash Negi and others were present.
