Mangaluru, November 22: The two days state-level convention of AYUSH doctors “AYUSH FEST” was inaugurated by UT Khader, Minister of Health and Family Welfare at Nehru Maidan here on Saturday, November 22nd, jointly organised by the Karnataka Ayurveda Unani Board, the Department of AYUSH, Various organizations of Ayush, AFI, Neema, Ayush Pharmaceutical Association, and Ayush Principles Association.
Minister khader addressing the audience said, this conference is organised with a mission- “AYUSH Moving Forward In Rural Health Service” to enhance the professional skills of the AYUSH practitioners. In this conference, practitioners from branches of AYUSH such as Ayurvedic, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy and Yoga and Naturopathy have participated.
Ramanatha Rai, in-charge Minister and Minister of Forest, Environment and Ecology, inaugurating a special “Expo” organised as part of the conference said, this conference will help to resolve the issue of rural health complications.
Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo, presided over the conference.
Dr. Satyamurthi Bhat Ayurvedic and Unani Practice Board President welcomed and said, although a total of 38,000 Ayurvedic, 12,000 Homeopathy and 1,05,000, Allopathic doctors have registered in the state, only 40 per cent are practicing in the State. Among this, 90 per cent of the doctors practice in the city. Thus, rural areas are facing the lack of doctors. In this view, according to the population in district and taluk level, the physicians must be distributed. He revealed that, his request had been placed before the Health Minister.
