Mangaluru, November 29: Remnant of cigar (beedi) was traced from a packet of chips bought by a girl from a local fair price shop at Konaje here on Friday November 28th.
The girl resident of Konaje, is a student of a school in Gorigudde. She bought the packet of chips from a fair price shop in Konaje for Rs 1.
The girl on her way back home in the evening, found a remnant of beedi in the chips packet while eating chips. The girl began to vomit after seeing it. When she vomited twice, her family inquired, and it was then they learnt about the reason.When the family checked the chips packet, they found the contents to be old.
On enquiring with the shopkeeper, he revealed that it was brought from Mangaluru just the previous day.
The girl’s family has urged that stale food causes adverse health effects and the concerned authorities should check their sale.
