Mangaluru, December 8: A student died on the spot and his friend suffered injuries in an accident that occurred at Madani Nagar, in Ullal at the outskirts of Mangaluru on Monday December 8th. The accident occurred at around 4 pm.
The expired youth has been identified as Saravana (28) from Tamil Nadu.
It is said that Saravana was riding pillion with his friend on a Pulsar bike. When the rider attempted to overtake tipper lorry, he lost control over the bike and collided to the tipper. Saravana was thrown on the road and came under the tipper lorry, dying instantly. Due to the severity of the accident, the body of Saravana is in a unidentifiable state.
It is learnt that, Saravana was residing at Ullal and was persuing 2nd year MBBS at Yenepoya Medical College.
The bike rider has sustained severe injuries.
Traffic was affected for about half-an-hour following the accident.
Ullal cops have arrived to the spot and shifted the mortal remains of Saravana to mortuary. A case stands registered at Ullal police station.
