Mangaluru, December 15: The inaugural ceremony of State level Kabaddi tournament organized by Kreeda Bharathi, Mangaluru took place at the Nehru Maidan in the city on Sunday, December 14th.
Raj Chowdhuri, All India Convenor of Kreeda Bharathi, flagged off the event by lighting the traditional lamp and opening the Hingara.
On this occasion, felicitation was rendered to outstanding athlete Poovamma and high jumper Sahana Kumari.
On the dais, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Sanghachalak of RSS- PV Shenoy, ZP president-Asha Timmappa Gowda, Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, MB Puranik, Raymond D’Souza, renowned body builder, Poovamma MR, Sahana Kumari, Chandrashekhar Jagirdar, and others were present.
Athletes from various colleges of the state participated in this sports event.
