Mangaluru, December 30: A tipper lorry collided to a bike at Ujjodi, near pumpwell, Mangaluru on Tuesday December 30th killing a man.
The injured is identified as Lateesh Kumar (29) resident of Pandeshwar. He is basically from Beeri, Kotekar.
A bus plying from Pumpwell to Gorigudde had stopped at Ujjodi, behind which Lateesh was waiting on his bike. At that instant, a speeding tipper lorry hit Lateesh, from behind. As an impact, he was struck between the bus and the tipper.
The tipper driver immediately fled from the spot. Tipper which was in the neutral gear began to move backwards, dragging Lateesh for about 100 metres. Those who were behind the tipper ran for their lives. The tipper finally stopped only after it slid down the road.
Lateesh who suffered grievous injuries was immediately rushed to hospital but he succumbed to his injuries later.
It is said that, Lateesh is married and his wife is expecting. He works for a private firm, as a marketing agent.
Mangaluru rural cops have registered a case.
